Fire Suppression
The Brockville Fire Department has a long history of providing fire protection to the citizens of Brockville. Over the years, the service has evolved significantly—from horse-drawn steamers to modern custom pumper trucks. While fire suppression remains the Department’s core function, the role of the Fire Department has expanded to meet the diverse and changing needs of the community.
Fire Suppression
Fire suppression continues to be the Department’s primary responsibility. Rapid, professional response to emergencies is critical to minimizing property damage and saving lives. Our personnel are highly trained, and our modern equipment ensures that we can deliver this essential service to both residents and businesses throughout Brockville.
Rescue Services
In addition to fire suppression, our personnel are trained in a variety of rescue operations, including water and ice rescue, auto extrication, search and rescue at fire scenes, and confined space rescue.
Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Response
The Department is trained as Level 1 responders for hazardous materials incidents. This training allows us to secure the hazard area, identify the material, and coordinate with the appropriate agencies to manage the situation safely.
Medical Response
Medical emergencies have become a significant part of our operations. The Brockville Fire Department responds to EMS calls in partnership with Leeds Grenville EMS, attending to life-threatening situations. Our firefighters are trained in First Aid, CPR, and defibrillation to provide immediate care.
Community Safety and Fire Prevention
Our Fire Suppression Division works tirelessly to reduce fire loss in Brockville. Available 24/7, our team responds to a wide range of calls, ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
